Injury Prevention & Performance Enhancement Serious knee injuries are sidelining athletes at an alarming rate: 1 out of every 100 female high school athletes and 1 in 10 female collegiate athletes will suffer a knee injury this year. These serious, often season-ending, injuries occur in females at a rate of 2-10 times more than they do in males. Many of these injuries are non-contact injuries in sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball which involve jumping, pivoting or cutting. SPORTSMETRICS’ specialized progression of jump/plyometric drills teach athletes safe techniques for jumping and landing and has been proven to: SPORTSMETRICS’ research has achieved the Excellence in Research Award from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
