Mike Hmura, MSPT | Director Northeast Salem Clinic
Mike Hmura, MSPT has been the director at PT Northwest's largest facility for the past 5 years. He has been with PT Northwest for 10 years.
He epitomizes the PT Northwest spirit. Mike started as a physical therapy aide, while he was pursuing his undergraduate studies in Biology
and Sports Medicine at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Mike went into the
Army Physical Therapy Specialist Training at Brooke Army Medical Center and Madigan Army Medical Center.
Mike later received his Masters in Physical Therapy from Pacific University in 1996, and worked for PT Northwest throughout his schooling.
Upon graduating from Pacific, Mike became a physical therapist for PT Northwest and thereafter became a rehab director. Mike has been involved
in research projects such as: "The Effects Of Ultrasound On The Partially Ruptured Achilles Tendons Of Male Rats", "How To Enhance Performance
During Anaerobic Metabolism-800 Meter Runners", and "A Study Of Efficacy Of Surgical Technique In Individuals With Distal Bicipital Tendon Repairs".
Mike's daily responsibilities at PT Northwest include overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Northeast Salem clinic. This clinic is especially
busy with its wellness programs that are integrated into the clinic. In addition to his responsibilities as a rehab director, Mike is a clinical instructor
for six different undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs.
Above everything else, Mike is a family man. Mike and his wife, Trina, have three-year-old and six week old daughters. Their six-week-old daughter
was one of first babies born in Salem after the September 11th attack. This little one has brought much joy to the Salem community. When not spending
time with his family, Mike is a sport enthusiasts. He loves a Friday afternoon golf game, and can occasionally be seen involved in a soccer match.
Mike played soccer in college and semi-professionally, so soccer is a second love for him. His soccer background allows him to understand the sports athlete.
Please stop by and see Mike when you are in the Northeast Salem area.
