ASTYM

PT Northwest was one of the first physical rehabilitation groups in Oregon to adopt the ASTYM System and offers this cutting-edge therapeutic technique at all of it locations. The ASTYM System is a form of augmented soft tissue mobilization that allows the therapist to stimulate the body’s own capacity for healing in patients with soft tissue degeneration, fibrosis, or chronic inflammation. The treatment is non-invasive and performed with ergonomically designed instruments that initiate the healing process necessary for tissue remodeling.

The ASTYM System is a therapy approach which provides patients relief from a number of injuries and disorders. This treatment is effective for new injuries as well as persistent, nagging injuries. One of the most exciting aspects of the treatment is that significant improvement often occurs even in cases where other treatments have failed. Our therapists often state their patients have been more compliant with this treatment method because they are seeing improvement within 2-3 visits. The success of ASTYM is documented for a wide variety of diagnoses.
